Junwen Li joined National Institute for Computational Sciences as a Computational Scientist in 2017. His primary focus is to provide software support and to develop and optimize scientific applications on high-performing computing clusters. He received a Ph.D. in Computational Materials Physics from Oklahoma State University. His doctoral research focused on first-principles studies of the electronic properties of one dimensional nanostructures. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University and National Institute of Standards and Technology, modeling emerging materials with applications in photovoltaics, ion batteries and spintronics.
